Sad news from Fairview Drive

A 44-year-old man apparently committed suicide in a home on Fairview Dr. Sunday. Two police officers who responded to a call for help by a neighbor were treated for carbon monoxide poisoning. The house is owned by Boston radio DJ John Garabedian who was not home at the time.

Seniors support the troops

The Southborough Senior Center is collecting care package donations for troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. More than 400 care packages containing personal grooming items (for men and women), Halloween candy, socks, magazines, and other items will be shipped to troops later this month.
Drop your donations off at the Senior Center by October 14.

Heritage Day pumpkin lighting

Pumpkins lined the stone wall along Common St. last night during the annual pumpkin lighting, one of my favorite Heritage Day activities.
My own young pumpkin has an early bedtime, so we didn’t get to see things all aglow, but we swung by during daylight hours to get some photos.
