Let the holidays in Southborough begin!

It’s a big weekend in town. Santa arrives, and the opportunities for holiday shopping seem endless. Most of the action takes place downtown, but there are some outliers not to be missed. Here’s a roundup.

9:00 am – 2:00 pm Annual Holiday Kids Shop (Woodward): Sponsored by Boy Scouts Troop 92, the Kids Shop is a place for kids to buy gifts for family members, babysitters, teachers, and more. Best of all? Gifts are wrapped for free.

9:00 am – 2:00 pm Holly Berry Fair (First Community Church): Shopping for crafts, plants, books,  baked goods, and most intriguing of all, themed gift baskets.

10:00 am – 2:00 pm St. Mark’s Church Christmas Bazaar (St. Mark’s Church): Find baked goods, fresh greens and wreaths, handcrafts, basket raffles, a silent auction, and a white elephant sale. Lunch served from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

10:00 am – 2:00 pm Southborough Historical Society “Christmas Past” (Southborough Historical Society Museum): Did you know we have a historical museum? We do. It’s behind Pilgrim Church and this weekend you’ll find there special Christmas displays, cider and sweets, and gifts from the museum shop. The museum will also be open on Sunday from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

10:00 am – 4:00 pm Leeds Land Farm Crafts Open House (Leeds Land Farm, 118 Middle Rd.): Remember the llama from Heritage Day? She lives at Southborough’s Leeds Land Farms and you can visit her there during their open house on Saturday. You’ll also find handmade crafts including hats, mittens, scarves, and rugs made from sheep and llama wool from the farm. Note that the farm will host an open house next weekend, as well. See the events calendar for more information.

10:30 am – 11:30 am Southborough Library Christmas Tree Decorating Party (Southborough Library): Ornament making, tree decorating, and refreshments. All kids welcome.

12:00 pm – 3:00 pm Santa Day (Community House): Santa arrives at St. Mark’s field by helicopter and then ho-ho-ho’s over to the Community House. Tickets are $5 per child or $10 per family and include a photo with Santa. Sponsored by Southborough Kindergroup.
