An elevation from the architect’s plan for South Union School repairs.

The town of Southborough is soliciting bids to repair windows, doors, and masonry at the South Union School which houses the Arts Center and Recreation Department. The work is being funded in part by grants from the Southborough Community Preservation Act. Separately, the Southborough Historical Society is drafting an application to get the building listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Bids are due to the Board of Selectmen by January 29. More information is available on the website of architect David McLaren Hart and in this public notice.

This is an o9bscene waste of taxpayers money. This building is used 99% by the Arts Council, a private group. Recreation has plenty of options to move to other buidlings in town.
