Register for the Jeanne Arathuzik Memorial 5k Run/Walk

Somehow I missed this when it happened earlier this year, but Dennis Wrenn was not the only loss the Algonquin community faced this year. Jeanne Arathuzik, a much-loved Spanish teacher at Algonquin for 15 years, succumbed to cancer in January. A lifelong Northborough resident, she was only 52 when she died.

Friends of the library meeting this week

Everyone needs friends, and the library is no exception. The Friends of the Southborough Library is a non-profit group dedicated to enriching library services. They’re meeting on Wednesday to form a new leadership group. The meeting will also be a chance for members to chat with new Library Director Jane Cain.

Pansy pickup moved to Wednesday

If you ordered flowers from the Pansies for Progress fundraiser held in honor of the late Police Chief Webber, the pick up originally scheduled for today has moved to Wednesday.

The week in town government

No surprise, it’s all about town meeting this week. A number of boards and committees will meet just prior to town meeting on Monday evening, with the main event scheduled to start at 7:00 pm at the Trottier auditorium.
