Where the ‘Grown Ups’ cast is this week

The cast and crew of ‘Grown Ups’ took over the famous Woodman’s clam shack in Essex this week. Woodman’s shut down for a few days to accommodate filming — the first time they’ve been closed in the month of June since the restaurant opened in 1914.

The Southborough Library hosts a magical salute to Pluto

When I was in school Pluto was a planet, but apparently no longer.
The Southborough Library will say goodbye to Pluto’s planethood on Friday with the Planets Magic Show by local magician Debbie O’Carroll. Here’s a description of the program:

Southborough’s unemployment rate continues to rise

Southborough’s unemployment rate increased from 5.1% in April to 5.8% in May according to numbers released recently by the state.
Even so, unemployment in Southborough is still well below state and national levels. The unemployment rate in Massachusetts in May was 8.0%. Nationally it was 9.1%.

Southborough selectmen coming to your living room

The days of watching the Southborough selectmen in action from the comfort of your couch are drawing closer. Last week selectmen said they will broadcast their meetings on the town’s public access channels starting with the meeting on July 28.
But before the meetings are broadcast to your living room, they want to make sure town

On the market this week

The Metrowest Daily News recently reported that single-family home sale prices in Southborough fell by 34% the first five months of the year as compared to 2008. With that not-so-encouraging news (unless you’re looking to buy in town), let’s take a look at the market this week.
