In the media: Genzyme snaps up parcel in Framingham/Southborough

The Metrowest Daily News reports biotech company Genzyme purchased a 1-acre parcel of land at 251 Boston Road (map) for $1.8M. The company recently has been expanding in the technology/industrial park in that area of town, but says it has no immediate plans for the Boston Road property.

“As far as what we’ll do with the land, we don’t know yet,” said Erin Emlock, a company spokeswoman.

According to Genzyme’s website, the current campus on the Framingham/Southborough line comprises 14 buildings that house 1,800 employees, the largest concentration of Genzyme employees worldwide.
