Further afield: Where I’ve been this week

I mentioned that I was traveling this week. Here’s where I was:
Southborough is home, but Seattle is a close second.
I don’t mind the gray and rainy, but I didn’t have to deal with much of that on this trip. And when Seattle is sunny, it’s one of the most beautiful places around.

The Sachem is Algonquin’s literary magazine. It features student writing, poetry, artwork, and photography. Last year, the magazine won a prestigious silver medal from the Columbia School of Journalism in NYC.
It’s a great tradition at Algonquin — 59 issues have been printed to date — but it’s not free, and The Sachem needs help from the community

Wednesday’s traffic mess

Fire Chief John Mauro, Jr. told me strong winds yesterday toppled a tree and forced the closure of Route 9 west near Flagg Road. That’s what caused the major backup along Route 9 last night. Downed trees and power lines in other areas contributed to the rush hour mess.

Mark your calendars, Southborough Unscheduled 2010 will be on Thursday, March 11. The homework-free, activity-free, and meeting-free evening is sponsored by Southborough Youth and Family Services, and is intended to encourage families to spend more time together.
