Breakneck Hill cows in autumn

Earlier this week I went to the Breakneck Hill Conservation Land to visit the cows. And what friendly cows they are! Many came right over to the fence to say hello. Lucky for me, they’re not camera shy either.

Southborough library announces amnesty days

If you have overdue books at the Southborough Library, this one’s for you.
During the first two weeks of November, the library will forgive overdue fines on Southborough library books, audiobooks, DVDs, CDs and videos in exchange for a donation of paper goods, or laundry or dish soap, for the Southborough Food Pantry.

Clark University to open Southborough facility

If current trends are any indication, Southborough is destined to become Metrowest’s higher education hub. Just over a year ago, Worcester-based Becker College opened a center in Southborough. Now Clark University has announced it will move its Graduate Management Center from Framingham to Southborough.

Former superintendent Bob Melican has died

Longtime Northborough-Southborough superintendent Robert Melican passed away Wednesday after a long illness. He was 62.
Melican began his education career as a teacher in Northborough in 1969. He advanced to superintendent in 1996. In 2004 he was named the state’s Superintendent of the Year. He retired in 2005 after 36 years of service.
