by susan on November 16, 2009

hydrangea-2Time for another open thread. For those of you new to the blog, the open discussion thread is your place to ask questions, sound off on town issues, or share information with other readers. Here are some suggestions to get you started:

  • Ask questions about programs in town or the town itself
  • Post a note about things that you’re selling or giving away, or things that you want
  • Share notices about upcoming events (Southborough or otherwise)
  • Register your thoughts on town issues or news stories
  • Point out interesting or helpful resources

You can add comments to the thread throughout the week. Check back often to see new comments. (If you read the blog via email or RSS, you might want to check the site from time to time for new comments.)

Just a shout out to the Girls & Boys ‘Gonk varsity soccer teams for winning their games yesterday, both of them beat the top seeds to advance to the next round. Congrats!

Now that Southborough has replaced the ladder truck, what will be the next piece of apparatus to be replaced and when will it need to be replaced?

Speaking of the ladder truck, will the charity fund administrators be sending out official receipts, for donor’s tax filings?

What is the house/building across the street from Finn, on Parkerville? Seems to have some construction happening and a funded by “CPA” sign in front… just curious!

Emily, I dont know exaclty whats going on over there, but I do know that students from Assabet Valley are working on the house. Wonder if it’ll go up for sale as low income??

I believe that house was purchased by the Housing Authority from an estate. I’m guessing it is being rehabbed and will be rented out as is the house at 1 Cordaville Road.

Emily, townie, John – Check back for more information on the Parkerville Road house later this week. It’s a great story!

Chris – According to the Fire Department website (http://southboroughfire.org/), receipts for Ladder Truck Fund donations will be sent out after January 1.
