The panels will not be painted. They are a special kind of steel called Cor-ten which develops a patina that protects the steel. Though it looks like rust, it is not rust, nor is it and indication that damage is being done to the panels. They will eventually form an even patina and the seams should no longer be visible. Yes, thank you minimom, most people do like the way they look, but for those who don't, please realize that the desired look will not be achieved until the rest of the plants are put in and allowed to mature a bit.
