Commander Steve Whynot of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3276 asked me to pass along this information:

Recently – Homes in Southborough have been contacted by a group soliciting for donations to ship packages to the troops. I have confirmed with the Millis AMVETS, they do in fact have a professional firm working to solicit donations.

However – Please take note – They DO NOT receive the full amount donated. An unknown portion of the donation is retained by this soliciting group. Also – some of these calls have been “less than professional”.

The VFW Post 3276 and American Legion Post 161 of Southborough would like to advise people – that we support 100% Lisa Braccio and her group of volunteers who have been conducting “Package Drive for the Troops” for the past five years. I can personally attest that everything donated to Lisa’s drive – is dedicated to the troops.
