		<description>I would agree with Mr. Kendall if there was evenhanded treatment, however, Mr. Kendall is not aware of the current facts.  As of now the Board of Selectmen is singling out the Library for a uniquely deep cut compared to other departments, over 4.5% down, while the average across all Town budgets is down about 1/2 of 1%, and only one budget, out of about 40, is down more than the Selectmen&#039;s proposal for the Library.  Of course, the ultimate decision is entirely in the hands of Town Meeting which has sole authority to act on this matter.</description>

		<description>I think most of us feel bad when a budget needs to be cut, but I hope they don&#039;t all line up with &quot;State of the Department&quot; speeches.  Every department is pretty much accepting the fact that cuts must be made (well, except the schools). These are drastic times, and they require drastic measures.  Hopefully the economy will really turn the corner soon and next year won&#039;t look so bleak.</description>
