Help clean up the Sudbury Reservoir on Earth Day

The Department of Conservation and Recreation is sponsoring a cleanup event at the Sudbury Reservoir in Southborough in honor of Earth Day and Park Serve Day. Here’s more information:

The Department of Conservation and Recreation Watershed Rangers and staff are conducting a cleanup event at the Sudbury Reservoir in celebration of Park Serve Day and Earth Day. It will be happening on Saturday, April 24th from 9 A.M. to 12 P.M. Volunteers are invited to meet at the MWRA facility at 268 Boston Rd. (Route 30) in Southborough. There they can sign in with DCR staff and either be assigned to or choose an area of the reservoir to clean up trash. Snacks and water will be provided, as well as gloves, trash bags, and trash picks.

Residents of Southborough, Marlborough, Westborough, and Framingham are especially encouraged to attend, given that the Sudbury Watershed plays a large role in the recharge of ground water supplies in these towns. All others who are interested in preserving and protecting public lands and drinking water supply areas are being asked to donate a few hours on this day to help.
