Poetry reading tonight at the Southborough Library

Town Meeting starts at 7:30 tonight, which leaves time for a bit of poetry beforehand. Here are the details from the Southborough Library:

The Southborough Library will host members of the Worcester County Poetry Association for a poetry reading at the Library, 25 Main Street, Southborough, on Tuesday, April 13, beginning at 7:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

The Worcester County Poetry Association presents readings by the top three winners of the 2009 Poetry Writing Contest:  Carle A. Johnson, who hosts the monthly Worcester Barnes & Noble Bookstore Open Mic and is editor of The Worcester Review.  Francine D’Alessandro, whose poetry has appeared in Sahara, Diner, The Longfellow Society Journal, and other publications. Among her themes are western travel, characters from a Brooklyn childhood, the Donner Party, Jack Kerouac and more. Dan Lewis, whose publication credits include The Cortland Review, Poemeleon and others.

The Poetry Festival at the Southborough Public Library is made possible through a grant from the Southborough Local Cultural Arts Council.
