The season came to a close for the Algonquin boys lacrosse team yesterday, as they lost their semifinal match against St. John’s by a score of 11 to 5. They finish the year with a 13-10 record.

Selectman regrets investigation; board considers reimbursing town employees

“I wish this whole thing never happened,” Selectman Bill Boland said last night. He was referring to the 7-month long investigation of Southborough town employees that stemmed from comments made last September at an after-work gathering at Pizzeria Uno in Westborough. “I wish it went away. But I can’t do anything about that.”

Lawsuit settlement frees up serious cash for Southborough

We’ve all heard the dire predictions about how tough things are going to be next year for municipal budgets, but last night the town got some good fiscal news. More than $1.3M the town had been holding in reserve has now been freed up thanks to the settling of some lawsuits.
