5 things to do in Southborough this weekend

Above: A hike at Breakneck Hill is just one of many options for family fun in town this weekend

Shopping is the name of the game in Southborough this weekend. From a huge indoor yard sale to a craft show to a ski and snowboard sale, you’ll have options! There are also some fun non-shopping things going on, too. Have a look.

FRIDAY

Algonquin Homecoming Game: There’s nothing like a high school football game to make you feel spirited, and tonight’s game is Homecoming, so no doubt it will be extra spirited. Kickoff is at 7:00 pm against Fitchburg. Bring a mug of hot cocoa and your pom-poms.

SATURDAY

Boy Scout Troop 1 Indoor Yard Sale: It’s being billed as Southborough’s largest indoor yard sale, so you’re sure to find something you want at this fundraiser for Southborough Boy Scouts. Proceeds will go toward the scouts’ trip to Alaska this summer. The sale runs from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at Pilgrim Church. (more info)

Holiday Craft Shop: If you’re looking for handcrafted gifts, head on over to the Southborough Arts Center (21 Highland Street) for the annual Holiday Shop. The craft show runs from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. (more info)

ARHS Ski and Snowboard Sale: Gear up for winter sports at the annual ARHS Ski and Snowboard Sale that benefits the Algonquin ski team. The sale takes place at St. Anne Church (20 Boston Road) from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. (more info)

SUNDAY

Family Farm Day at Breakneck Hill Conservation Land: Recover from your shopping adventures from Saturday with some family fun at Breakneck Hill Conservation Land on Sunday. There will be a family hike starting at 10:00 am and a cow pie contest at 11:00 am. Proceeds benefit the Belties Cow Fund. (more info)

Did I forget anything else going on this weekend? If so, leave it in the comments!

Hoping for a good turnout at the Arts Center tomorrow. We will be there selling “Bella Boas” which are handmade scarves the proceeds of which go to help Bella Tucker. Please check out http://www.friendsofbella.org for more information.

Thanks to all who attended the Troop 1 Yard Sale! We were able to raise more than $1,000 going directly to the Alaska Trip slated for next summer. And, it sounds like there may be another one in the spring, so stay tuned! Thank you Susan for giving us such a good plug.
