Algonquin falls in Thanksgiving classic

It was a great day for football, and Algonquin fought hard, but in the end they lost to Westborough by a score of 14-0 in the annual Thanksgiving Day matchup.

Algonquin senior Kyle McGinnity had an excellent day at quarterback for the Tomahawks, completing 12-of-31 passes for 176 yards. He also rushed for 31 yards.

Running back Ryan Wales led Algonquin in rushing, picking up 81 yards on 18 carries. Mike Fucci, the Tomhawks leading receiver, had three catches for 41 yards.

It was Westborough’s fourth consecutive Thanksgiving Day win. They now lead the series 38-19-1.
