Friends of the Southborough Library to meet on Wednesday

The Friends of the Southborough Library invite new and old members to their meeting tomorrow morning where they’ll discuss spring and summer programming for all ages. The meeting starts at 10:00 am at the library.

A volunteer organization, Friends of the Southborough Library has been around since 1972. Here’s a description of the work they do to enhance programming at the library:

The Friends sponsor programs for people of all ages, including poetry and author readings, lectures, a film series, craft workshops and musical performers.  Most events at the library are free. Friends’ funds help the library provide “extras” for the community, such as the museum pass program, adding special items to the library’s collection, electronic and multimedia equipment. The Friends raise funds through book sales and membership dues. Everyone is welcome to join. We have monthly meetings from March through June, and then in September and October.

If you’re interested in joining, attend the meeting tomorrow. If you can’t attend the meeting but would still like to join, stop by the library for membership form (also available online here).

Also a reminder that tonight at 7:00 pm the library will host its annual State of the Library address. More info here.
