AVM presents Wine, Women, & Song at St. Mark’s on Sunday

Join the Assabet Valley Mastersingers as they present Wine, Women, & Song, a selection of choral works by Carl Orff and Johannes Brahms. The concert will also feature the Algonquin Concert Choir and the Northborough Town-Wide After-School Choir.

The show starts at 3:30 pm on Sunday at St. Mark’s School. Tickets are $20 for general admission and $18 for seniors and students. Get $1 off by purchasing tickets in advance at Mauro’s Cafe, among other places (see a list here).

Parking is available at Woodward School. A free shuttle will be provided for transport to and from the concert hall.

Here’s a little bit more about the show:

The 13th century medieval poems of Carmina Burana that celebrate spring, fickleness, drinking, gambling and lust are presented by Carl Orff with exciting rhythms, exuberant singing, and enthusiastic outbursts of joy and ecstasy. The Neue Liebeslieder- Walzer of Brahms address these same themes of love, lust, and women but in a more lyrical and richly ‘romantic’ style.
