No fooling: Significant snow possible Friday

Above: The latest snow total predictions as of Wednesday morning (via the National Weather Service)

We spent last weekend outside working in the yard. It was chilly, but the sun was bright, the neighborhood kids were out playing in their driveways, and we truly felt spring was just around the corner. Turns out what’s actually around the corner may be more snow.

April Fool’s! Except not.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for our area, saying a late season nor’easter is possible from late Thursday night through Friday.

At this point the NWS shows us as getting about 5 or 6 inches of heavy, wet snow, but forecasters admit there are a whole lot of variables still to play out with this storm. It could yet turn out to be a non-event.

Cross your fingers.
