Southborough police log (1/28/12 – 1/29/12): Rabid raccoons and lost lambs

Saturday, January 28, 2012

  • 1:53 am – Officers checked on a bicyclist on Crystal Pond Road and Turnpike Road. The male party stated that his bike had developed a flat tire, and that he was now waiting for friends to pick him up.
  • 10:07 am – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Constitution Drive residence. The resident is having trouble with the phone line.
  • 10:38 am – A passing motorist reported two sick looking raccoons in the driveway of a Boston Road residence. Responding officer found one dead raccoon, and one raccoon that appeared to be rabid. The animal was put down at the scene by the officer, and the Animal Control Officer was notified.
  • 1:19 pm – Officers investigated a two car, motor vehicle accident on Cordaville Road. There were no injuries reported from the scene.
  • 1:23 pm – A medical was reported at a Main Street business.
  • 4:36 pm – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Constitution Drive residence. The residence is the same house as the previous incident. They are still having problems with their telephone line.
  • 5:52 pm – Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Flagg Road residence.
  • 7:14 pm – Officers checked on a suspicious person in front of a Turnpike Road business. The individual checked out o.k.

  • 12:32 am – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 1:48 am – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Constitution Drive residence. *See above.
  • 2:32 am – Officers investigated an abandoned 911 call from a Turnpike Road business.
  • 11:12 am – A Southborough Officer assisted the Mass. State Police and the Southborough Fire Department with a fully engulfed vehicle (fire) on Route 495. No injuries were reported from the scene.
  • 2:55 pm – A motorist reported an erratic operator heading south on Marlboro Road (Route 85 South) from Marlborough. The vehicle had left the area before responding officers arrived on scene.
  • 5:01 pm – A resident of Central Street reported that there was a lamb in her back yard. The Animal Control Officer was notified.
  • 8:15 pm – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 6:17 pm – ARRESTED: A Marlborough man was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Revoked License (Subsequent Offense), and Marked Lanes Violation.
  • 8:15 pm – Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 10:31 pm – Officers checked on a suspicious male, who was walking down Cordaville Road (Route 85 South). The individual checked out o.k.
