Earlier this month Representative Carolyn Dykema hosted a picnic for senior citizens in the 8th Middlesex District which includes Southborough. It’s an annual event that takes place at the New England Laborers’ Training Center in Hopkinton.
More than 125 seniors joined in the afternoon festivities featuring food fresh off the grill, music and a raffle featuring local businesses.
“This picnic is great send off to summer,” Dykema said. “It’s great to see so many friends from years past and new neighbors attending as well.”
Southborough Town Planner Eric Denoncourt along with former Planning Board Chairman Charles Gaffney were at the picnic, along with officials from other area communities. Senator Jamie Eldridge also stopped by.
