The much-anticipated Algonquin football home opener on Friday evening has been postponed to Saturday. The move comes after Northborough canceled evening activities in an effort to minimize the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses.
The game against Wachusett will be played instead on Saturday at 3:00 pm at Algonquin. To make room for the varsity game, the JV match-up against Wachusett was moved from Saturday to Sunday.
Algonquin pulled off a commanding 26-0 win against Burncoat in their season opener at Foley Stadium last weekend. Southborough resident Margaret Kaigh Doyle was there and posted a great collection of photographs on her website. You can see them here.
