Power should be restored to all in Southborough by end of day today

As of this morning, there were only 84 customers in Southborough who remain without power after Hurricane Sandy blew through town on Monday, and National Grid says those folks should have their power back by the end of the day today.

The remaining outages are scattered across town, with each outage affecting less than five customers. According to the National Grid outage map, the largest cluster of outages appears to be the Fayville area.

In the aftermath of the storm, nearly 950 National Grid customers, more than 20% of the town, was without power. Town facilities were also without power for a time, but as of yesterday the schools and all town offices, including the Town House, were back up and running at full power.

So sorry to hear that 84 homes are still without power…that is a long time to wait for lights, refrigeration, heat, internet and so much more at the flick of a switch. Thanks to Susan for not forgetting about you in her blog and for reminding those of us who do have power to be grateful and sensitive to those who might need help. We look forward to an update that says 100% restored power in Southborough.
