Southborough police logs (11/23/12 – 11/25/12): Seal-coating scam

Friday, November 23, 2012

  • 0033 hrs- ARRESTED: A Marlborough man was arrested after it was determined that there was an active arrest warrant for him out of Westborough District Court.
  • 0200 hrs- Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Glenwood Road residence.
  • 1035 hrs- A medical was reported at a Turnpike Road business.
  • 1141 hrs- A medical was reported at a Cherry Street residence.
  • 1244 hrs- Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Pine Hill Road residence.
  • 1457 hrs- Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Main Street.
  • 1543 hrs- A Strawberry Hill Road resident reported that two suspicious males in a white pick-up had just asked to do work (seal coat) on the resident’s driveway. Both parties had left the area prior to the officer arriving on scene. *Note to our residents*- this is a common scam in which the suspects start working on a driveway, and then stop halfway through in order to demand more money. There have been many elderly victims from this scam, so please keep an extra eye out for your elderly neighbors.
  • 1614 hrs- Officers checked on a suspicious motor vehicle parked on the corner of Rockpoint Road and Cordaville Road. The vehicle checked out o.k.
  • 1731 hrs- Officers investigated a barking dog complaint on Lyman Street. The Animal Control Officer was notified of the incident.
  • 1834 hrs- Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Acre Bridge Road.
  • 1835 hrs- Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Richards Road.
  • 2020 hrs- Officers investigated a parking complaint on Boston Road.
  • 2315 hrs- Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.

  • 0801 hrs- Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Boston Road business.
  • 1024 hrs- Officers responded to a Meadow Lane residence to assist the resident with a domestic issue.
  • 1148 hrs- A motorist from Lowell, MA. was issued a Criminal Application for Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License.
  • 1714 hrs- Officers assisted a Ted Lane resident with a civil issue.
  • 1745 hrs- Officers investigated a suspicious motor vehicle parked at a Turnpike Road business. The vehicle and the operator checked out ok.
  • 1822 hrs- A medical was reported at a Pine Hill Road residence.

  • 0103 hrs- Officers assisted a motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 0301 hrs- Officers investigated a one car, motor vehicle accident on Marlboro Road. Injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
  • 1616 hrs- Officers investigated a burglar alarm at a Marlboro Road residence.
  • 1704 hrs- Officers assisted a disabled motorist on Turnpike Road.
  • 1753 hrs- Officers assisted a Cordaville Road resident with a domestic issue.
  • 1817 hrs- A medical was reported at a Cordaville Road residence.
  • 1852 hrs- Officers assisted a Ted Lane resident with another civil issue.
  • 1853 hrs- Officers were notified of an erratic operator on Route 9 (East). Responding officers reported that the vehicle had left the area.
