PHOTOS: Southborough Recreation opens new play space at South Union School

Earlier this week the Southborough Recreation Department held a grand opening celebration for a new play space designed for the preschool set. A crowd of youngsters and their parents enjoyed games, activities, and a sing-along led by local musician Dave Garden. The Rec Department sent along photos of all the fun. Check them out in the gallery below.

The new play space, located on the top floor of the South Union School (21 Highland Street), will be open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:00 am to noon. Developmentally-appropriate play materials will be provided for children ages 6 and under. Activities will include an obstacle course, soft balls, a rice table for pouring and scooping, blocks for building, and various table-top activities.

Admission is free, but parents and caregivers are required to stay and supervise their children. Coffee will be provided for adults, and parents are free to bring peanut-free snacks for their children. The space is for Southborough residents only.
