Back in January, about 50 Southborough boys and girls ages 10 through 14 participated in the annual Knights of Columbus Free Throw Competition at Trottier Middle School. Six of those free throwers advanced and will compete in a district competition on Thursday evening.

Heading to the district championship in Milford will be Bharathan Sundar (age 10), Trevor Burns (age 11), Zach Zides (age 12), Kyle Henderson (age 13), Julie Edson (age 12), and Amanda Carroll (age 13).

Southborough players have won at the district, regional, and state level for three years running. Two of the youngsters advancing this year, earned a place on the podium at the state competition last year. Amanda Carroll took first place for the girls in the 12-year-old bracket and Zach Zides placed third among 11-year-old boys.

The Knights of Columbus District Free Throw Championship takes place at the Milford Youth Center (24 Pearl Street, Milford) at 6:00 pm on Thursday. Best of luck to all the competitors!
