The Annual Southborough Education Foundation Spelling Bee has become a much-anticipated event. This year’s battle of the spelling wits will happen on Friday night at 7:00 pm at Trottier.

The silent auction is a popular part of the Spelling Bee, and this year SEF has taken the auction online so you can get a jump on your bidding. The online portion of the auction will end Thursday night at midnight, and then bidding will continue at Trottier. There are some great items up for bid, so be sure to take a look.

The 6th Annual Southborough Education Foundation (SEF) Spelling Bee will take place Friday, March 8th at 7 pm at the Trottier Auditorium. Admission is $2 per adult and $1 per child with a maximum of $5 per family. The event promises to be an evening of fun, raffle prizes and spelling hilarity as teams made up of teachers, administrators, parents, students and local businesses compete to be crowned this year’s top spellers.

Doors open at 6 pm to enter raffle drawings and bid on silent auction items. Raffle items include Red Sox tickets, an autographed Bruins hockey stick, Bose speakers, Wachusett ski tickets, gift certificates to local businesses and much more. This year’s silent auction is bigger and better than ever and bidding is already underway online. Visit www.32auctions.com/2013spellingbee to view and bid on such items as a weekend ski package at Clay Brook at Sugarbush, a weekend at the Ocean House in Watch Hill, RI, a Lisa Tommaney Signature Portrait package, a week at Fay Discovery Camp and SSAT/SAT Preparation or Academic Tutoring from Chyten Education in Framingham.

Last year’s Spelling Bee raised over $28,000 to help fund innovative educational programs for all the Southborough public schools and Algonquin Regional High School.
