Free events this week (9/2/13-9/7/13): One Book movie event and free fitness classes (Updated)

Monday, September 2, 2013:

  • Labor Day – no public school

Tuesday, September 3, 2013:

  • Senior Tuesday Fitness class (3:15-4:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: For 55 years and older. Aerobics and weight training are combined. Trainer, Sharon McDevitt, varies the routines and the music. You can take the first class free or just observe it, so stop in at the Senior Center to register or call them at 508-229-4453.

Wednesday, September 4:, 2013:

  • The Flute Player (12:00-1:00 pm) @ Senior Center: Part of Algonquin Regional High School’s Intergenerational program One Book, One School, One Community. The documentary The Flute Player is based on the book Never Fall Down. It explores the inspirational story of Arn Chorn-Pond’s survival of the Khmer Rouge (killing fields) by playing music. Please feel free to bring your lunch to enjoy before the movie. The room will be open at 11:30am.

Thursday, September 5, 2013:

  • Rosh Hashana – no public school
  • Free adult yoga class (5:30-6:30 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: This is a free trial class by Kripalu Yoga, followed by weekly classes for a fee. Although it takes place at the Senior Center it is intended for adults of all ages.

Saturday, August 7, 2013:

  • Alan Belniak book signing (12:00-2:00 pm) @ Tatnuck. The Southborough author will sign copies of his children’s story Diego Manchego & the Dessert Dilemma (now available in print)
