Northborough Southborough Music Association has been boasting again. Who can blame them when they have such accomplishments to share?
Algonquin Regional High School’s Jazz 1 and Jazz II bands competed in the MAJE State Finals last weekend. (This is the annual festival run by the Massachusetts Association of Jazz Educators.)
Jazz 1 came home with a Gold Medal.
Jazz 1’s 19 member band will now head on to perform at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade in Boston.
The MAJE Gold Medal Showcase is open to the public and it features all of the gold medal jazz bands, jazz combos, and jazz choirs. The performance will take place on Sunday, May 4th, time TBD.
Jazz 2 didn’t do too shabbily either. The band came home with a silver medal.
