Obituary: Henry B. Adams, 91 (Southborough Selectman 1957 – 1960)

Henry B. Adams, 91, of Marshfield Hills, died on April 23, 2014. He was born in Marlborough, MA, on October 21, 1922, to Anne H. B. Adams and Henry G. Adams. He married Ines V. Nordgren in 1941. She predeceased him in 1967.

Mr. Adams attended Marlborough schools, graduating in 1940, and Bryant and Stratton Business College. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was stationed in Europe. After his tour of duty, he became city auditor of Marlborough. He also served as city comptroller of Keene, NH, Massachusetts state municipal examiner, and town accountant of Walpole. In 1978, he moved to Marshfield to serve as town accountant. Upon retiring, Mr Adams became veteran’s agent in Marshfield. Following family tradition, Mr. Adams was a member of the Masons for more than sixty years and was active in the Eastern Star in Marlborough and Marshfield. Civic minded, he served as a selectman in Southborough and was a member of various boards, including the Marshfield Council on Aging and the Boosters, the Winslow Village Advisory Board, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Rotary Club. He used his natural musical ability to liven many parties and events with his piano playing. If his friends could hum it, he could play it!

Johnson (Meghan), of Glen Allen, VA, and Daniel Adams, of Marshfield Hills; and great grandchildren Anthony Adams and Haven A. Johnson. He also leaves a stepson, Larry Stone of Lunenburg.
