According to Selectman Bill Boland, Southborough’s flags have been flying half staff all weekend and today in honor of Retired Police Sargeant and long time public servant Ray O’Connell. (Click here for his obituary.)

Updated (6/2/14 5:20 pm) Originally, based on the communication from the Governor’s office, I announced that the flags were at half staff in Southborough for a different reason. Across the state flags are flying at half staff  today in honor of First Sergeant Joseph A. Anastasio, U.S. Army, of Canton.

The sergeant passed away suddenly on May 25, 2014, while stationed in Germany. You can read more here.
