Health and home safety events at the Senior Center beginning this Wednesday

Household hazards lurk in every home. Take the first steps by learning how to prevent them at tomorrow’s Occupational Therapist presentation at the Southborough Senior Center.

It’s just one of the health care events being held by the Senior Center this fall.

On Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, occupational therapist Amy Smith will speak about home safety recommendations, suggestions for improved safety and a review of adaptive equipment for improved home safety.

The presentation will be hosted by Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. Refreshments will be served.

Other upcoming  events include a Flu Clinic on Thursday, September 25 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

This year there will be a high dose vaccine. For more information about the high dose flu vaccine contact Leslie Chamberlin, R.N.

And on Wednesday, October 15 from 10:00 am to noon there will be an Osteoporosis Screening in the Nurses Office. No appointment is needed.

Chamberlin also put out the word seeking donations to help seniors with healthcare and home safety. Medical equipment sought includes as shower chairs, walkers and  wheelchairs.
