An electronic sign on Framingham Road warns drivers that Boston Road will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
It’s just one of seven projects scheduled for next week, for the paving of eight roads in town.
So, commuters may want to get an earlier start next week. And those of you with kids on school buses should expect some to experience delays due to detour traffic issues. (Just when the drivers were getting on schedule! )
The silver lining is we should have a lot smoother streets and fewer potholes ten days from now!
Here is the Department of Public Works’ posted “tentative” schedule for next week:

Ledge Hill Road, Wyeth Circle, Whistler Lane – Paving 9/11-9/12

The roads certainly need to be paved…but is there any way to coordinate w/ SPD and/or the state to try to mitigate traffic in some critical intersections?
One that comes to mind is White Bagley and Rte 9. This was a popular detour last week when the causeway was closed and the light is bad (long) enough w/ ‘normal’ traffic. With the detour it was horrendous. Took someone 8 mins. to go from William Colleary Lane to Latisquama.
What about a) posting an officer during key volume times (e.g. rush hours) to manually work the light (yes, I know there’d probably be OT $$) and/or b) have the state re-program the traffic light to shorten the cross street cycle for those days?
What are the paving plans for Fisher Road?
