Obituary: Eileen Mary (Sullivan) Perham

Eileen Mary (Sullivan) Perham, 92, passed away gracefully on Sept. 21, 2015 at Beaumont Nursing Home in Northborough where she had been a resident since 2009. Private services for the family were held on Sept. 25, 2015 in Framingham at Boyle Bros. Funeral Home and St. Stephen’s Catholic Church.

Eileen was born in Framingham on July 4, 1923 to the late George and Theresa Sullivan. She was a graduate of Framingham High School and later employed in the accounting dept. of the Dennison Mfg. Company. In 1947, she moved to Fayville with her husband, the late Arthur Perham, former owner of Ted’s of Fayville, and again in 1967 to Boston Road in Southborough. In a letter she wrote in 1960, Eileen referred to herself as “just an ordinary girl” but she will be remembered as an extraordinary woman who accepted all challenges of life with dignity and strength of spirit. Eileen was a talented writer who chronicled her thoughts in many hand written journals and letters to her family and friends. Fireworks, parades, patriotic and country western music were just a few of her favorite things. She was truly happiest in her sunny Southborough kitchen enjoying the simple pleasures of everyday life.

Eileen was pre-deceased by: her brother, the Rev. Edward G. Sullivan, her sister: Elizabeth Munroe; her only son: Edward A. Perham and her companion: Donald MacEachern. She is survived by her daughters: Karen E. Woodward, Barbara A. Truell, Jean M. Perham and Sandra J. Daigle. Eileen had 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren: Dylan, Ella, Tilly, Macey, Sean and Nola.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Beaumont Nursing Home for Eileen’s care while she was a resident, as well as Salmon VNA & Hospice and Home Care Solutions, Inc., for their additional care and support. If you would like to remember Eileen you may do so by making a donation in memory of Edward A.
