Postseason sports: Boys Soccer and Volleyball on to quarter finals

Right: Boys Soccer doesn’t have as strong a record as their female compatriots. But they did break through the first round of their division tournaments. (Photo from Westborough game earlier this season by Chris Wraight)

Boys Soccer shutout Fitchburg, 10-0, in their first round on Wednesday. This afternoon, the 8th seed Boys head to Tantasqua to go up against their top seed team in the 4:00 pm quarter finals.

4th seed Volleyball bested 13th seed Burncoat in last night’s first round game, 3-0.  Harder to beat 5th seed Lincoln-Sudbury will challenge them at Algonquin for the quarter finals Saturday at 5:00 pm.

Girls Cross Country brought pride to their school this week. ARHS Athletics tweeted that the girls beat Westborough 21-31. More impressively, Madison Scott set a new ARHS course record.

In Girls Soccer, 8th seed Shephard Hill emerged as their competition for Saturday’s quarter finals. Top seed Algonquin hosts at 7:00 pm.

And as I posted on Wednesday, Field hockey’s quarter finals are at Marlborough this afternoon at 2:30 pm.
