Algonquin Volleyball ended its tournament bid this weekend. The team fell to Lincoln-Sudbury 3-1 in their quarter finals. (Scroll down for pics from the game.)

Meanwhile, three teams are headed to the semi-finals this week.

Field Hockey beat out upper seed Marlborough in Friday’s quarter finals, 1-0. Tonight at 7:00 pm, they take on undefeated Quabbin at Lunenburg for their semi-finals. If they overcome, they’ll play in the finals on Wednesday morning.

Top seed Girls Soccer is headed to their semi-finals at Nashoba tomorrow night at 5:00 pm. They’ll be challenged by 4th seed Tantasqua. They beat down Shephard Hill in Saturday’s quarter finals, 6-1.

8th seed Algonquin overcame top seed Tantasqua in their quarter finals on Friday. They’ll look to keep things going with a semi-final win against 4th seed Groton-Dunstable. That match takes place 7:00 pm tomorrow at Nashoba.

Football boasted a 1 point win against Shepherd Hill last week, 28-29. This Friday, they host Fitchburg at 7:00 pm.

I feel badly for the girls Varsity Volleyball team because they had a great season. They have some great teams following in the years to come though. I think the Freshman and JV teams were undefeated and never lost a game or match. And how about the Football coach McKay’s Wing T offense? Goofy as it is, these young men could end up 8-3 and the best record I believe in thirty years and two winning seasons in a row and a group that should continue into next year and beyond. And coaches who are pros, love the kids, and are good examples on and off the field. Great job guys and coaches.
