Chestnut Hill Farm: Pre-Mother’s Day Garden Walk, CSA shares and Chronicle coverage (Updated)

Chestnut Hill farm is hosting a (Before) Mother’s Day Garden Walk and the Blessing of the Fields on Saturday, May 7:

Kickoff Mothers Day weekend with a Saturday visit to Chestnut Hill Farm. We’ll help the family celebrate together with mom with guided walks through the meadow, flower planting, refreshments, and activities.

At 1:30pm we will bless the fields with the help of participants and a team of multi-denominational leaders. We’ll make crowns to wear and dance around the May pole.

The 1:00 – 3:00 pm is free to mothers. The rest of you will have to pay $5/member and $10/non-member.

If you don’t have a membership, you may want to sign up for one. The Trustees of Reservations has announced that the farm will be expanding its CSA shares this year. They are offering both small and large shares in the 20 week program. (It’s something I keep meaning to share, but keeps getting pushed off by more pressing events!)

I’ll be posting more about this, hopefully sometime soon. In the meantime, click here for details.

And in a bit of fun news, Chronicle just gave the farm some nice (though brief) coverage as one of TTOR’s properties. You can see that here – about 3½ minutes into the clip.

Updated (5/4/16 5:25 pm): Inserted new information on the 1:30 field blessing and dancing around the maypole.
