Obituary: Arthur Keith Piper, 93

Arthur Keith Piper, 93, of Southborough, died peacefully on May 11, 2016. He was a devoted father to his late daughter Donna Jean Piper, who left us too early last fall, and a loving husband to his dearly departed wife, Betty R. (Raven) Piper.

Keith was born in Marlborough son of Warren H. and Mildred W. (Woodward) Piper. He spent summers in his younger years in Brockton with his grandparents Arthur M. and Myrtie W. Keith. He also spent much time on Fort Meadow as a child. He enjoyed painting for a number of years, taught by a favorite aunt. Keith graduated from Marlborough High School and Wentworth Institute of Technology.

In November of 1942 Keith joined the US Army and was very proud of his service, traveling the globe as a motion picture projectionist, not only delivering news to our troops but serving as moral support with the motion pictures of that time.

When his time of service ended he resided in Southborough, with his wife and daughter and began his life long career with National Grid but kept his motion picture operator license active running a movie here and there. Along the way Keith became a very involved member of many organizations and chapters across New England, such as the Masons, Knights Templar, Aletheia Grotto, Eastern Star, Aleppo Shriners, The Scottish Rite and the Sons of the American Revolution.

Keith is survived by his sister Constance Elder of Hudson, MA and his brother David Piper of Port Richie, FL as well as many nieces and nephews.
