Late in the season, several Algonquin teams are still racking up lots of wins this winter.
Gonk Girls Swim team is the team to watch this week. They placed second (under Tyngsboro) in the Mid Wach league championships last week. This weekend they head to sectionals at WPI. But first, they’re scheduled for another championship tonight.
Girls Gymnastics captured two more wins last week over Sharon and Hudson. They face Shrewsbury this week. The Colonials were the first team they beat this season, but also one of the only 3 teams to beat them.
Boys Basketball and Boys Hockey both still hold second place in their leagues.
Hockey beat Groton-Dunstable 2-1 on Saturday. Basketball was destroyed by Marlborough 61-6 last Wednesday. But they came back to beat Shephard Hill in a 65-64 squeaker Friday night..
