While some of Algonquin’s varsity sports are still playing out their seasons, others have been vying for post season championships.

Algonquin Wrestlers continued to muscle their way through the brackets over the weekend. At Division 2 States three captains earned the right to compete in this weekend’s All States.

Southborough's Drew Cozzolino earned his 150th win for Algonquin Wrestling (tweeted by @ARHSW)Bryce Finnegan came in 3rd for his weight class. Joe Vencile and Drew Cozzolino finished 2nd. (Along the way, Cozzolino also boasted his 150th win for the school.)

ARHS Indoor Track competed in their D2 championships. As teams, Girls ranked 14th and Boys 19th. But members placed 4th in two races (Tess Reyes for the Girls 1 Mile and Boys for the 4×400 relay). The five runners qualified for this weekend’s All States.

T-Hawks Game Day Cheer Team earned a 2nd place finish at their League competition. That qualifies them for upcoming Regionals.

Gymnastics competed in their Sectional competition yesterday. They came in 10th.

Swimming/Diving is done for this year. Girls Swim Team came in 21 at State Div 1 Championships on 2/15. On 2/17, Boys Swim didn’t compete as a team at their Championships, but several of their members did.

Brackets for Ice Hockey and Basketball aren’t posted yet. But there’s no question that Boys teams will be playing in both tournaments.

Boys Hockey won their Roy Conference League title on Saturday. It was an exciting, late-game reversal. The team tweeted:

Gonk with the come from behind win against Nashoba, on the back of Paterson’s game winner with 20 seconds left!

League leaders, Boys Basketball stretched their winning streak to 6-games last week.

Here are the ARHS varsity games on tap for this week.
