Friday was the much anticipated season opener for Algonquin football under new leadership. The Telegram previewed the team in advance with a focus on brothers Taylor and Mark Allen, head coach and defensive coordinator. (Click here to read that.)

And the T-Hawks apparently did have a good day. According to Telegram’s Saturday recap, they beat Worcester North 35-14.
Football was one of just two varsity teams to score a win for the season’s start. Here’s how the other varsity teams fared to date:
