Senior Center holiday fun: Sing-a-long, Bingo, Cookie Swap, and a Matinee (Updated)

Southborough seniors have some fun options to celebrate the holiday season this month. When I last checked (yesterday afternoon) the following were still open: a sing-a-long lunch, a holiday bingo, a cookie swap, and a Christmas matinee. Most require pre-registration through the Senior Center to participate. Stop by the desk or call 508-229-4453.

Wednesday, December 13th at 12:30 pm

The annual holiday celebration for Southborough Seniors features a sing-a-long with the center’s Southborough Songsters. Lunch will catered by Assabet’s Epicurian Restaurant (featuring a deli platter, salad, dessert and drinks). Suggested Donation of $6 per Friend of COA, $10 per non-member. Please bring an unwrapped gift for the Toys-for -Tots Program. Registration is required.

Friday, December 15th at 12:00 pm; lunch beginning at 11:15 am

Come join Bob Myers, Doriann Jasinski and Lisa Braccio for a wonderful afternoon of Holiday Bingo, fun, prizes, gift cards. The room will be open early if you would like to bring your lunch or buy it from the Café. Suggested donation of $3 for Turkey Sandwiches & Soup with dessert and a drink. When you pre-register, please tell them if you plan to buy lunch.

Holiday Cookie Swap from senior newsletterHoliday Cookie Swap
Monday, December 18th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm

A first for the our Senior Center, a delicious Holiday Cookie Swap. Sign up at the front desk to join in this fun social event. Please bring 3 dozen cookies along with your recipe by 10:00am if possible or whenever you can between 10:00am and 12:30pm for set up purposes. We will be enjoying the swap at 1:00pm as well as tasting this array of cookies with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc. You will leave this fun event with 2 1/2 dozen cookies to bring home and enjoy. Hope you will join us! (No registration is listed for this event.)

Wednesday, December 20th at 12:00 pm; lunch beginning at 11:15 am

Free matinee. The room will be open early if you would like to bring your lunch or buy it from the Café. There will be a basket for your donation on the kitchen counter that day. Suggested donation of for Shephard’s Pie, a holiday dessert and a drink. At noon, the comedy Christmas Vacation (with Chevy Chase) will be screened. When you pre-register, please tell them if you plan to buy lunch.

Updated (12/18/17 9:06 am): Deleted accidental reference to last year’s Christmas matinee. As stated further in the blurb and flyer above, the Senior Center is showing Christmas Vacation (not White Christmas).
