Southborough author “Book and a Brownie” events for 8-12 yr olds

Above: Participants in “Book and a Brownie events” will talk about a new book by a Southborough author and be challenged to create a “Brownie of the Month”.

Southborough’s Susan Lubner published a coming of age book “Lizzy and the Good Luck Girl” this winter. Now she’s teamed up with Southborough entrepreneur Melissa Roiter to put on two special events. The “Book and a Brownie” events will be held at Roiter’s Yummy Mummy Bakery in Westborough.

The “educational, fun and yummy” event costs $30 per child and covers a signed copy of the book plus treats to take home.

It’s a drop-off event but pre-registration is required (and limited.) Two chances are scheduled. You can sign up for Monday, January 21 at 3:00 – 4:30 pm or Saturday, January 26 at 10:00 – 11:30 am.

Please join us at Yummy Mummy Bakery for an exciting event: BOOK AND A BROWNIE. For 8-12 years olds, the class features Susan Lubner, author of Lizzy and the Good Luck Girl. Susan will read a chapter of her new book and lead a brief discussion. The kids will then be invited to take a tour of the bakery and, like Lizzy, be asked to create a special brownie of the day. The most delicious creation will be featured in the bakery the following week!

To register, email melissa@yummymummybrownies.com or call 508-366-4200. You will need to provide the child’s full name, parent’s name and phone number. (You also need to let them know about any allergies. They will do their best to accommodate.) Payment is due at drop off.
