Farmer for a Day (or four) over spring break

Yesterday, I shared the only spring break camp offered by the Town. But it’s not the only one taking place in town.

Southborough’s Chestnut Hill Farm is bringing back its “Farmer for a Day” program. I know that sounds like it’s just a one day offering. It’s actually just a half day, but kids are welcome to sign up for up to four sessions that week.

The Trustees of Reservations is holding the morning program for children ages 6-10. It’s offered Monday, April 15 through Thursday, April 18 from 9:00 am to noon.

Farmer for a DayHey kids! Dig into vacation at Chestnut Hill Farm and become a junior farmer for a day (or four)! You’ll help care for farm animals, learn to grow and eat farm fresh food, hike the trails, create natural crafts, and explore the farm from the eyes of its most important team member: the farmer!

Parents, your little farmers will come home with stories of adventure, a deeper understanding of where their food comes from, a sense of responsibility, and memories made with new friends (people and animals!).

This drop-off program is designed for children ages 6-10. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

The cost per day is $44 per member child and $55 per non-member. To sign up, click here.

As of this morning (Tuesday, April 9), each day has just a few spots left. So if you’re planning on signing up your kiddo, register ASAP – especially if you need to grab a spot for their friend, too!
