  • Editor’s Note: Stay tuned for an updateSouthborough Summer Nights (5:30 – 9:00 pm) @ Neary school fields, 53 Parkerville Road: The town’s annual free, end of summer celebration was scheduled for this time. With Friday afternoon’s safety alert from the state about halting evening activities, this is less certain. I’m told that officials will discuss how to proceed early this week – so stay tuned for an announcement about whether this a go or a schedule change is in order. In the meantime, you can check out details about the planned fun in the dedicated post.

I think cancelling Summer Nights is a little too much. I think the EEE threats have been exaggerated a little this year. If you do find yourself at an outdoor activity during those specific hours, do what they DPH said. Apply repellent with DEET, where long sleeve shirts and pants.
