Police Alert: Man reportedly exposed himself to child walking after school

Southborough Police asked me to help alert the public about an incident reported today:

A student from Southborough reported that she was followed by a man driving a black, newer model (possibly Cross-over) SUV, after school today, in the area of Deerfoot and Flagg Road. The unknown white male (described as having black hair, “scruffy” facial hair, and black, thick-rimmed glasses) allegedly exposed himself to her, after asking for directions.
The student was able to safely retreat from the situation and report it to a parent, who then notified the Southborough Police Department. Southborough Police has been in contact with School officials and the School Resource Officer. Today’s incident is currently under investigation by the Southborough Detective Unit. If anyone has any further information regarding this incident, please contact Lieutenant Ryan Newell or Detective Keith Nichols at 508-485-2121.

We would like to take this opportunity to ask parents to speak with their children and encourage them to take the necessary precautions to stay safe:
* Always walk or bike with other students.
* Be alert to what is happening and who is around you.
* Never go near a stranger’s car.
* Never accept rides from a stranger.
* If a stranger attempts to have you come with them or makes you feel uncomfortable scream and run away. Find an adult you know and report what happened immediately.

Thank you.
