Main Street Update: Disruptions this week and next (for mostly final stretch)

Expect some big disruptions, including during rush hours, for the Main Street Reconstruction project again this week and next week.

The good news is they’ll signal the final stages to the big roadwork components of the project (paving and painting).

The news comes from an update posted to the Town website this morning.

There is finish work that isn’t expected to take place until the spring. That is specified to include “crosswalk coloring and texturing and some landscaping.”

The update notes that the work plans are weather dependent. Thursday is forecast to be rainy, so I’d expect that to push out “Day 3” work in the schedule below:

They expect to start [paving] Tuesday and end on Thursday.

DAY 1 work will start at Sears Road and end around the Town Common.

DAY 2 and DAY 3 work will include the intersection and the area east of 85.

Please expect them to work long days and please plan accordingly.

Pavement markings will be installed the following week – weather dependent.

Does anyone know if they plan to pave Rt 85 all the way to the Fire Station? It looks like they did not scarify all the way down there,… The company that did the work left the pavement a mess, I would hope they fix this when they do the repaving.
