Obituary: Gloria A. D’Angelo (Echevarria)

Gloria A. D’Angelo (Echevarria) [formerly of Southborough] passed away peacefully at her home in Delray Beach, Florida on Monday, November 30, 2020.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister. First and foremost, Gloria dedicated her life to her loving husband of 64 years, Charlie who she affectionately called “Boo”, and her adoring children Tessa, Jane and her husband Garey, Charlie Jr. and his wife Christine and seven grandchildren Andy, William, Matthew, Anna, Sophia, Anthony, and Nicholas. Gloria is survived by her brother David Echevarria of Florida and sister Nini of Long Island, NY. Her dear brother Sonny Echevarria of Long Island, NY predeceased her in death.

Gloria was a passionate lover of classical music, literature, and gourmet cooking. Having been born in Manhattan, NY and spending many happy times walking the gardens in Central Park, Gloria developed a passion for gardening which was evident by her beautiful yard full of colorful fragrant flowers and gardens flourishing with vegetables and herbs she used in the gourmet meals she lovingly cooked for her family.

Gloria and her family spent 27 years living in Southborough, MA. and was an active member of St. Marks church where she loved teaching Sunday school, being part of the altar guild and one of her favorite times of the year was Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. Her love of gourmet cooking and children guided her to teaching her daughters’ friends in Kimberly Park, Southborough, MA the artistry that is cooking and did it with love and kindness. There were many friends of Gloria’s children that considered her their second mom.

Gloria will long be remembered for her love, unselfishness, and compassion.

Gloria was an angel on this earth. She had an enormous heart full of compassion and concern for others. She truly was an exemplary woman! Her face would light up with joy when she spoke about her family, especially her grandchildren. She was proud of her children and truly adored her husband, Charlie. I believe Gloria had a special way of endearing your heart. She was so gentle and kind. I was sad to hear about Gloria’s passing but have many fond memories with her and Charlie, which I will always cherish. Truly she will be missed. My deepest condolences to Charlie and her family.
