Weekend at a Glance: Jingle fundraiser & Santa Day is here

Above: This morning, you can buy jingle bells for a good cause and a feel-good event. (contributed photos)

I only have two events to share for this weekend. Both are this morning, Saturday, December 12th. They’re worth a quick highlight.

Santa Day

As I posted yesterday, Santa Day organizers shared more details on the route he’s planning for this morning from 10-11 am. Click here for those details. (Fingers crossed for the rain to hold offuntil after the event is done!)

There is another story that I missed sharing of an event taking place this morning.

Jingle fundraiser for pediatric patients

Last week, I shared that a Southborough resident is organizing a special fundraiser for the pediatric unit at UMASS Memorial’s Children’s Medical Center in Worcester. She was selling jingle bells in Northborough. This morning, she’ll be selling them in town.

An announcement last week shared:

Southborough resident Kelly Donfield is spreading holiday cheer, hope and magic in more than one way. She has organized the Christmas Eve Jingle 2020, which will bring smiles to many faces, including kids in the pediatric unit at UMASS Memorial’s Children’s Medical Center in Worcester. You are asked to go outside on Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24, at 6 pm and ring jingle bells for five minutes. Jingle bells will be sold and money collected will go towards fulfilling the wish lists of children who will be unable to celebrate Christmas at home this year. . .

“It will be an amazing memory for our children and our community,” Donfield said. “It hopefully will bring a little cheer to a child facing a health crisis this Christmas.”

Donations can be made in cash or via Venmo @Kelly-Donfield. Questions can be directed to Kelly at kadonfield4@gmail.com.

To support the fundraiser, swing over to NY Bagel Factory at 205 Turnpike Road (Rte 9 West location) from 9:30-11:30 am this morning.

Is anyone aware of a Girl Scout cookie sale before Christmas? They make great stocking stuffers.
